Lake & Nearby Cabins Thunder Bear Cove Lodge sits at the bottom of the hill on a private cove, giving you full lake access and unobstructed water views. Cabins at the top of the hill do not have lake access, so your experience remains peaceful and private. Across the lake, 3–4 cabins have lake access, but they do not impact the privacy or tranquility of your cove. Pets Dogs are welcome with prior approval. Please follow our pet policy: 1st pet: $100 per stay Additional pets: $75 per pet, per stay Fees cover extra cleaning and wear on hardwood floors. Driving & Roads The cabin is in the mountains with narrow, winding roads — some paved, some gravel. Drive carefully. 4WD is not required, but recommended in winter months. Amenities & Supplies We provide washcloths, towels, custom beach towels, and vegan handmade soap. A starter kit includes toilet paper, paper towels, laundry and dishwasher pods, and trash can liners. The kitchen is stocked with spices and cooking spray. Guests are welcome to bring additional personal items they may need. Hot Tub The hot tub is exclusive to your party. Please follow posted safety guidelines. Security For your safety, there are Ring cameras at the front and back doors (audio & video). No cameras are inside the cabin. Weather Georgia weather can be unpredictable. Please be aware of potential impacts during your stay. Travel Insurance We recommend travel insurance to protect your trip.

House Rules

No smoking or vaping inside the cabin No unauthorized fires (including candles) No parties Wood burning fireplace is unavailable from March 31st - October 1st No lake activities without wearing a life vest By booking, guest agrees to sign house agreement and pay a refundable security deposit prior to check in. Guest also acknowledges that access to the property will be denied until security deposit is paid, and agreement is signed then sent back to me or the reservation will be forfeited without refund. Payment of security deposit is collected via Airbnb and is fully refundable if all rules are honored. It is your responsibility to make sure ALL guests in the group honors all house rules, as the deposit is based on that.

The desirable Cherry Log Mountain of Blue Ridge, GA. *Benton MacKaye Hiking Trail is right outside the cabin's backdoor (less than 50 steps) along the shoreline. *Access to the Lake (less than 50 steps) where you can go swimming, fishing from the private dock and kayaking (2 kayaks and 2 life jackets available).

Guest Access

Guests have full access to the cabin, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, living spaces, kitchen, and loft. Outdoor Spaces: Private dock, hot tub, fire pit, grill, and lake-facing swing Kayaks available for use, plus opportunities for fishing and swimming The cabin sits in a tucked-in cove, providing privacy and tranquility. While a few cabins on the opposite side of the lake also have lake access, your cove experience remains private and peaceful.

Find us

To avoid getting lost, we highly recommend you DO NOT use GPS or internet mapping once you arrive in town. Please PRINT directions as cell service may be spotty in the mountains. These mountains have narrow and winding roads. Some of the roads are paved and some are graveled. Our drive way is flat and graveled. There is a slight incline when leaving the cabin. Nothing that any standard vehicle couldn't drive. **During inclement weather, access to or from Thunder Bear Lake may not be achievable. 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND CHAINS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.**
